Ultimate PUBG survival manual with tips, tricks and secrets Guide
Ultimate PUBG survival manual with tips, tricks and secrets List
BASIC STARTER KIT
PUBG requires better gear to achieve game long survival or victory. Must-haves include the Backpack, Helmet, Armor Vest, Medical Supply, Automatic Gun and compatible Ammunition. Other stuff comes in handy but having this starter kit gives you a sure fighting chance.
BLOODY ARMOR
Always check your high-level Helmet and Armor Vest as having a depleted and bloodied elite gear is worse than equipping a basic armor.
HEAD GEARED
Your helmet can give you a survival plus, but there are levels to the protection it can give you. A Level 1 Helmet can help you survive small arms fire, a Level 2 can give you a fighting chance over automatic rifles, but only a Level 3 can make you survive a sniper head shot.
BOATMAN
Riding the boat offshore is one perfect way to survive stealthily and avoid enemy detection as long as you have all the weapons and gear in preparation for the final minutes of the game.
ILL EQUIPPED
If by any chance you fail to acquire high rated weapons like Rifles, and you’re left with a Shotgun, a Handgun or the Crossbow, survive by calculated camping or hiding inside houses. Hide behind doors and blast incoming players so you can get your shiny weapon loot.
CAMPING CREW
When you survive and become part of the last 10 or 15 players, it’s natural that you would wish to annihilate every opponent to reach the top. The best tactic here is to duck for cover or go prone if you’re in grassy lands, and let them finish off each other. You can then hunt down the remaining players especially those who run from the blue line of death.
SNEAK SLOW
Take extra precaution when looting inside buildings especially when going upstairs a you maybe taken surprised by a lurking or camping enemy player.
CLEAR SCREEN
Remove all the clutter in your screen by disabling the HUD or GUI. This helps a lot when surveying enemy positions. (Press ‘Ctrl + U’ on your PC).
CAMO NETTING HAS ARRIVED
Equip the clothes best suited to the terrain you’re fighting on. The rare “crate-only” Ghillie Suit is the best camouflage in green grassy lands. However, the yellow wheat grass gives shirt-less folks the edge as going prone and bare makes it hard for enemies to spot you.
MEDICAL STUFF
Health buffs like Bandages and First Aid Kits are mapped from ‘7’ to ‘0’ on your keyboard for easy heal access.
EXPLOSIVE GLIDER
You can jump higher than the normal way in PUBG by running and jumping away from an exploding grenade.
WEAPON ROULETTE
Cycle through your weapons by using the middle mouse scroll on your mouse. For grenades, press ‘G’ to cycle through your grenades.
RUNNING HEALER
Healing or using bandages or drinking energy drinks require full stop. To save time and not cancel the heal process, move or walk when the heal timer goes down to 0.5 seconds remaining.
FREE LOADER
If your inventory gets full due to an overstock of an item, you can free-up space and save some of that item by using partial drop.
SAFE GRENADES
You can put the grenade pin back into place by removing the grenade from the weapon slot back to your item inventory.
RATE OF FIRE TOGGLE
Switch to Single or Manual weapon fire to counter unwanted recoil in Automatic or Burst rate of fire. Choosing Single also preserves your ammo and makes your shots more accurate. (Pressing B for PC and N for Mobile).
SCOPED RIGHT
You cannot use scopes or red dots on Shotguns, while Handguns can equip the ARs. Automatic Rifles meanwhile can attach up to the 8x Scope except the M16.
BRIDGE AMBUSH
Do not pass through bridges unless needed as these pathway invites sneak attack and ambushes where it is particularly difficult to outmaneuver. Swim or cross through the other island using a boat!
ASSESS MULTIPLE ENEMY THREAT
When you barge into a group of enemies, it is advisable to disregard downed players as they no longer pose a threat to you. They may likely die of blood loss, refocus your fire against those who can still fire at you. It’s also better to sprint sideways and fire, as staying immobile in one spot invites sure death.
PRO SWIMMER
Diving underwater helps you avert enemy fire as it can act as mirage for you while you escape. Press ‘C’ to dive under in PC and hold ‘Space’ to go back up.
360 DEGREES VIEW
You can press ‘Alt’ in PC to survey your surroundings while walking or running and be prepared for sneaky attacks or hidden enemies.
PISTOL FIGHT
Handguns and Shotguns which cannot attach scopes are quite handy at the beginning of the game. As the round progresses, failing to secure a Sniper or Automatic Rifle diminishes your survival as most of the enemies may likely be equipped with the more powerful scoped weapons.
BREAK THE FALL
Avoid undue damage by jumping three floors down. Any jump beyond two stories will surely damage your player character.
USE VEHICLES WISELY
Your automobile will bring you to your destined locations, but it will surely give away your position. Use better judgment as to when to continue driving or start walking to avoid enemy detection.
ZIG-ZAG
Run away using Sprint, use zig-zag running patterns and jump for cover to get out of the range of sniper fire. Do not go prone as this is sure death if you’ve already been spotted and under the enemy line of sight. You can also use a quick escape if you have a vehicle handy or a smoke grenade to cover your retreat.
SPRINTER BOLT
Use auto sprint to get to your destination fast by pressing ‘=’ or ‘Shift’ on your Keyboard.
PRO LEANER
You can lean to the left or right while concealed on a tree or behind a brick wall to cover your body and fire against enemies. Using this same tactic also makes you a tad more difficult to hit when engaged in open enemy fire. (Press ‘Q’ or ‘E’ on PC)
SPEEDSTER
Step on the gas and break through the blue line of death by pressing on the vehicle speed boost. (Press ‘Shift’ on PC or the Speed Boost icon in Mobile)
NEED FOR DRIFT
Utilize your car’s handbrake during turns for an aggressive and quicker turn especially if under enemy fire. (Press ‘Space’ on PC)
FPS THE THIRD
Switch between Third Person and First Person Perspectives by pressing ‘V’ on your PC Keyboard.
DON’T BREATH
While using ADS (aiming down sights) to aim precisely by pressing ‘LB’ button on XBox or the ‘Shift’ key on your PC Keyboard.
MINI-MAP ALERT
The mobile version of PUBG gives graphical warning such as footprints in the mini-map if somebody is walking near you. The same works for gunshots if someone fires a weapon or lobs a grenade in your immediate area.
COOKED NADE
Do not overcook your grenades. Throw it as soon as possible as failure leads to accidental suicide.
CLOSE THAT DOOR
You should close doors when entering structures. It can give you temporary protection from sneak attacks if someone was following you.
HEALTH MATTERS
Bandages and First Aid Kits will bring your health back to 75 per cent. The former requires multiple small applications and heals over time, while the latter boosts you up after seven seconds of using it. However, bandages are better suited when you’re in constant enemy fire and in need of immediate cure. The time it takes to apply the First Aid Kit may likely be your death sentence if the enemy closes in and you’re still applying it. Also, the rare MedKit heals you up to 100 per cent after 10 seconds.
CAR HOUDINI
You may survive heavy enemy fire while you are on a vehicle if you switch car seats. Press ‘Ctrl + 1’, ‘Ctrl + 2’, ‘Ctrl + 3’, ‘Ctrl + 4’ , ‘Ctrl + 5’ and ‘Ctrl + 6’. On mobile and XBox, you can press the corresponding seat icon to switch places.
CAR NINJA
Surprise and ‘insta-kill’ unsuspecting enemies by boarding a vehicle, switching to the passenger seat and staying still and quiet. Once the enemy player gets-in and drive the vehicle, fire-away!
WINDOW ENTRY
Breaking into a building via the window will likely give away your position if there are lurkers in the area. The PC version of PUBG has breakable glass windows which would most likely give-off sounds of shattering glass upon entry. The mobile version, however, does not have glass windows.
DOOR SWINGER
Hide behind where the door swings when you camp a house. If an enemy comes-in, you should be comfortably concealed and give you the advantage of first strike against unsuspecting players.
HOT DIESEL
Refueling your vehicle requires that you bring your vehicle to a complete halt. Alternatively, you can gas up while inside using the canister icon in your inventory (Right-Click for PC Players)
KEEP CONVERSATIONS PRIVATE
Make sure to set your chat to party or squad only. Forgetting means your adversaries can gander at your strategic squad plans.
BAREFOOT
Walk or run barefoot specially at the beginning of the round to avoid detection as your footsteps will likely give away your position due to the noise from your steps.
BREAK
Refueling your vehicle, drinking Energy Drinks, and applying Kits and Bandages require a non-moving vehicle. Any undue movements of your automobile cancels the actions above.
MAPPING ALA WAZE
Markers help you have a point of reference for your parachute drop and for going into places to loot get instant directions. It also gives your team a basic idea where you plan to go.
BOOM LOBBER
Grenades are great for clearing structures and severely maiming suspected campers inside. However, the explosive sound gives away the lobber’s location, so Stun grenades is preferable as it also temporarily blinds.
COVER THAT GRASS
PUBG renders tall grass at least 150 meters from the player, while players are graphically rendered from longer range. What this means for you is that you might be concealed from a player nearby when you hide prone in the grasslands, but pretty much visible and vulnerable from Snipers afar.
SHEATH YOUR WEAPON
Holster or withdraw your gun so you can run faster and move unhindered. The drawback is that you are left defenseless if you barge into an ambush or an enemy player sneaks to attack you. (Press X on your Keyboard)
BETTER SCOPING
ADS (aiming down sights) is better than the hip fire aim in terms of accuracy.
PELLET SHOOTER
Shotgun is your friend in close encounters as the spread and booming sound stifles your enemies, but is useless at long range.
LONE WOLF
It’s a better idea to dive alone to a secluded area in the map to get your loot. Jumping with a group gives you a semblance of security, but will hinder you from getting substantial loot. You’ll find yourselves fighting for one weak weapon. In contrast, going solo is also disadvantageous if you bump into a coordinated squad equipped with powerful weapons.
MAP EXPERT
Master the game map as soon as you can. Knowing where to get the best loot will be your most likely key to winning the round. Also, you must have a better measure how long you should stay looking for loot. Make sure you do not perish dashing to go inside the safe area when you’re out of time.
LATECOMER
Look around if you’re dashing to go back to the safe zone after beating the blue line of death. Some early lurkers may setup an ambush and wait for incoming players, so it’s perfectly logical to be prepared for campers.
LENS ADJUSTMENT
You can adjust the scope lens attached to your rifle by pressing Page Up or Page Down on your keyboard.
BOWLING NADES
Roll down grenades to your enemies by using holding the ‘Left-Click’ and simultaneously pressing the ‘Right-Click’ to release the grenade on your keyboards.
ELIXIR OF LIFE
Drink the Energy Drink or Painkiller pills if you believe you might have an open firefight. Having that extra health boost will give you the edge and fighting chance against your enemies. This is especially handy during the last 10 where the blue line converges in a quicker pace.
LOOT TRAP
Leaving powerful Automatic Rifles, First Aid Kit and Sniper Weapons make enemies think that it is safe to loot. Set up the ambush and wait as the unsuspecting player falls for bait and then lay down your sneak attack.
FISTIC HEADSHOT
If you barge into a fist fight, aim for the head while jumping as this inflicts more damage and makes you harder to hit.
AVOID ENGAGEMENT
Skip firefights as much as possible more so if you’re not yet fully geared or equipped with a powerful weapon. This is applicable in sniper fights, as failing to nail down the enemy places you in a precarious position since they know by then where the shots are being fired from.
ALERT JOE
Make sure to press TAB again once your using a bandage to heal or when drinking an energy drink as enemies may use this opportunity to launch a sneak attack. This way, you will be ready and have a better view opposite incoming attackers. Also, switching between standing-up, prone or duck stance helps you survive unwarranted enemy fire.
PATIENT CAMPER
Employ ambush tactics against opponents coming out of buildings or structures. When you have secured weapons like rifles and long range guns, you can camp outside and ambush unsuspecting players. You can then be better equipped after your newfound loot.
TREES CAN’T COVER YOU
Don’t use trees for cover unless pinned down by a sniper. You can use the tree trunk’s frontal cover to peek and locate the enemy but this leaves you immobile and easy target for flanking and attacks from behind.
STEALTH CAMPER
When you reach the final stages of the game and you’re bound to be one of the top ten survivors, stealth camping is your best ticket to victory. If the final battle brings you into the grasslands, staying prone (lying down) as long as possible is important. Avoid crouching or running and firing shots that are not sure kills. Firing shots will most likely give away your position. Explosives and smoke bombs will help confuse and unnerve opposition and give you a slight advantage. Also, consuming energy drinks and painkillers will surely aid you in case you engage in a firefight or the blue line of death goes past your current location.
BOX AMBUSH
Players are usually tempted to rush to the supply paradrop location. Instead of going for the rich loot yourself, you can hide in a concealed location with supply box on your sights. You can pick-off the unsuspecting players busy foraging for the prized loot.
